Scheduling an Exam Appointment
Once an application is exam eligible the applicant will need to log in to BPELSG Connect to pay for and request to take the exams.  Applicants will have the choice to take the exams in one of two quarters following the quarter in which the applicant makes the exam requests and pays the exam fees in BPELSG Connect; however, the applicant will not be able to take the exams in the same quarter in which they make the exam requests and pay their exam fees in BPELSG Connect.  For example, if an applicant makes their exam requests and pays their exam fees in Quarter 1, they will be able to schedule their exams in Quarter 2 or Quarter 3, but not in Quarter 1.  See the chart on Applying for Licensure as a Civil Engineer for quarter dates.  Once an applicant has paid for an exam and selected a quarter, their eligibility is only valid for the quarter they selected.

After payment, the applicant will receive Authorization to Test (ATT) notices via email with instructions on how and when to schedule the exams with Prometric.  Contact the Exam Unit at (916) 999-3644 or BOEXAM@dca.ca.gov for questions about scheduling the exams or if ATTs were not received after payment was made (check SPAM and junk email boxes before contacting the Board).

Calculator Policy
The Board’s calculator policy is described in the Civil Engineering Surveying Exam and Civil Seismic Principles Exam Candidate Information Bulletin (CIB)s.

Exam Results
Candidates will receive their exam results via email the month following the month in which they took the exam.  The results are typically released by mid-month.  For example, candidates that took the exam in January will receive their results by mid-February.  Do not contact the Board regarding the anticipated release date, as there are several factors that can affect the release of the exam results, and an exact date cannot be provided to candidates.

The exam is not appealable or reviewable; do not contact the Board regarding appeals or exam reviews.
