NEW AND IMPORTANT UPDATES

POSTED SEPTEMBER 26, 2025 - The Board is proposing to amend sections 407 and 3005, Title 16 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR). This Fee proposal would address the structural imbalance in the Board’s budget and to ensure future fiscal solvency for the Board. The Board is seeking to increase the fees charged and collected by the Board for an initial license, examinations, renewal of a license, and retired license. Written comments relevant to the action proposed, including those sent by mail or e-mail to the addresses listed under “Contact Person” in the Notice, must be received by the Board at its office no later than Monday, November 17, 2025, or must be received by the Board at the hearing, should one be scheduled. ADDED SEPTEMBER 11, 2025 - The meeting materials for the September 18-19, 2025 meeting of the Board are now available.

ADDED DECEMBER 24, 2024 - Please allow 4-6 months in Technical Review for Civil Professional Engineer (PE) applications. This time frame applies to all Civil PE applicants, including Comity and Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam Waiver applicants. The Board is actively working on resolving the backlog.
